Peter R. Holyk, M.D., C.N.S. opened Contemporary Health Innovations, PA
in March, 1997. This was the result of several years of traveling
nationwide to learn varying aspects of heavy metal detoxification,
chelation, and other holistic modalities of health improvement. The
search was essentially spawned by the lingering ill health of his wife,
Pam. Her health had not positively responded to any traditional means.
In fact, it continued to get worse!
Between 1970 and 1982 Dr. Holyk graduated Magna Cum Laude in chemistry
at Seton Hall University, graduated Tufts University School of Medicine
in Boston, did a one year general medicine internship in North Carolina,
and finished a three year residency in ophthalmology at the University
of North Carolina - Chapel Hill.
Since 1982 he has (and continues to) actively practice ophthalmology,
and currently is on the Board of Directors of the Contact Lens Association
of Ophthalmologists and is a commissioner on the Joint Commission
of Allied Health Personnel in Ophthalmology.
In 1994 Dr. Holyk opened his "healthcare improvement horizons" again.
He began pursuing education in EDTA chelation therapy. He also
became one of a few select members of a study on safe and effective
means to detoxify people from mercury poisoning. This study is currently
opening PHASE III trials with the FDA! He also does natural
hormone replacement therapy, nutrition and supplementation counseling,
etc.
In addition to authoring several articles and book chapters, Dr. Holyk
has written numerous newspaper columns. Current ventures include radio
talk show appearances and an Internet Column Better Health.
Besides numerous memberships in traditional medicine and ophthalmology,
he is a member of both The American College for Advancement of Medicine
and the Great Lakes College of Clinical Medicine. Dr. Holyk's goal with
Contemporary Health Innovations, PA is to help bridge the gap between
traditional and "alternative" medicines for the ultimate betterment of
the patient!
In this effort he is joined by Mrs. "Ginny" Kubicek, his wife, Pamela Holyk, an active alternative
medicine researcher, and Ms. Chassidy Bond, front office coordinator.
